Teaching your baby sign language.

Im glad that you have such an interest in teaching your baby sign language. It really does show what a great parent you are, and how much you care about your child having a excellent childhood.

If you have read a few of my previous posts then you will realise the benefits teaching your baby sign language will have on both of your lifes. i will to summarise my keypoints below:

1. Most children learn to sign as early as 7 or 8 months – much earlier than a typical baby learns to talk!
2. Babies who can communicate through sign are often much happier babies and toddlers which translates into a happier YOU!
3. Babies who can sign have shown less frustration and have fewer tantrums overall, since they can usually communicate their needs better.
4. Studies have shown that babies who learned sign as infants had a higher IQ overall than babies who didn’t learn sign.
5. Children who have learned sign have been shown to have more advanced language skills than children who have not learned sign
6. Signing in the classroom has led to improved math scores among students.
7. Learning sign language at an early age helps develop the brain in the critical early years of language development.
8. Signing with your child provides a unique bonding experience between you and your child.
9. Signing opens the doors to wonderful friendships with those who use ASL as their primary language.
10. Signing helps promote self-esteem in children
11. You would be surprised at how often knowing sign language really comes in handy for both you and your child!
12. Signing is FUN for the whole family and easy to learn!!!!!

Children are special beings, and they like to have what they want, when they want it. Please, make sure you can understand what your child wants, teach them Sign language! it will make both of your lives easier and stress free.

Helps your baby Speak

I forgot to mention the benefits teaching a baby sign language can have on there speech. if a baby understands what a certain sign mean, and you put a word to this sign. Then a baby will develop knowing that "this word" is the same as "this sign".

What im trying to say is that your babies first word could be "hungry" or "thirsty" and it will actually mean what they say. The benefit you and your child will have over other kids would be massive, and it will make both you and your child very happy. instead of CRYING out for his bottle, he/she could just say "thirsty". you as a parent will know exactly what it is your baby wants, and you will be able to get the sleep you need.

Teaching your baby sign language couldn't be easier, and more fun. You and your child will be able to bond more than you ever have in your short relationship together. also it is proven to increase your babies IQ and learning abilities. Think about the future of your child, and the effect this higher IQ will have on his life at school...

My first post will explain to you the reason why teaching your baby sign language can have such a massive effect on your life. When your baby cries at night, it is there special (yet stressful) way of telling us what they want.

Most babies can learn sign language far before they can learn how to speak, this is the way nature chose babies to develop. What this also means is, if you do teach your baby sign language you will be able to communicate with your child at nearly half the age you could, and will be able to keep your baby from getting frustrated and throwing tantrums.

It has also been proven that babies who learn sign language have a much greater IQ then babies that have to first develop speech. This is because they can communicate at an earlier stage of there life, where there brains are developing at full steam!

It is very hard to determine what a crying baby wants (unless there is that distinct smell in the air) but when you have a baby who can communicate with you through sign language, then you will be able to do the things your best at. care for your baby.

"when a babies cared for quickly, they will be less frustrated, have far less of those random tantrums and will be able to sleep much better at night..." think about it. Babies develop quickly and realise that a sign language will get them results in the fastest times.
